Training Program

It starts at 5.15am on Tuesday, Wednesday,  Thursday, and Friday.

It starts at 6am on a Saturday and 7am on a Sunday.

Monday is my day off, give me a break.

I get up, grab a muesli bar and jump on the saddle, I am at my meeting spot in 8 minutes to ride with the normal crew. I have been riding for over 25 years and ever since I started I am unable to stop! Although mostly for enjoyment, it was an excellent way to get fit, and now that I’ve just turned 41, I am the fittest I have ever been in my life. It has become somewhat like a drug. I could not think of anything I am more passionate about than cycling for a children’s charity. So I have decided to join the Chain Reaction Challenge this year and train for the event that will undoubtedly be the hardest ride I have ever done. But for such a great cause.

So, it is time to get serious. I can train 6 days a week, , averaging 300 – 350km a week- but it’s the thought of riding the 7 peaks in 7 days that kills me! (Dreading the burdening hills of Mt Buffalo and Mt Hotham). Although I try to avoid it, I am now in the process of targeting climbs, focusing on shifting my straight rides to incorporating some big hills. At the end of the day its not about me its about the kids.
